Calibration Cells

In contrast to traditional calibration cells, the Nanolytics Instruments design features bottom notches for precise alignment using the alignment tool. The calibration cell, often referred to as “counterbalance” though its actual purpose is to provide calibration marks for the centrifuge, are available in titanium and aluminium:

• Titanium: for 12 and 20 mm assemblies with titanium centerpieces,
• Aluminium: for 1.5 to 6 mm assemblies (titanium centerpieces) and 3 to 12 mm assemblies (epoxy centerpieces).

The necessity for titanium counterbalances can be circumvented when titanium based 12 and 20 mm cells are run opposite to one another, whereas the counterbalance is located opposite a lighter cell (i. e. short titanium centerpieces or epoxy centerpieces).
